Berry Bier works in a dual capacity role at Bayer. He is the U.S. Chief Financial Officer for Bayer Corporation, a role which he began in October 2013, and as well, he serves as the Global Head of Taxes for the Bayer Group, a role he assumed in 2005. Prior to his current roles, Berry joined Bayer AG in 1999 as Tax Manager for North and Latin America, Australia and New Zealand, and then became Head of International Taxes in 2002. During his work in Bayer’s tax department, Berry was involved in all major group reorganizations and M&A transactions.
Berry serves as a board member for Organization for International Investment (OFII). Berry also has been active in lobbying as the chairman of the tax committee of the German Chemicals Association, and continues to be its vice-chairman. Additionally, he is a member of the board of the tax committee of the German Federal Industry Association. Berry has been responsible at Bayer AG for the group’s worldwide real estate and was a member of the BHC AG, BPH AG and Bayer 04 Soccer GmbH supervisory boards.
Berry currently resides in Pittsburgh, PA with his wife and two sons.
