Pittsburgh, August 12, 2011 - Linda Cawthon Griffin, Audit Manager and GISC Manager for Bayer Business and Technology Services, has been honored as one of the New Pittsburgh Courier’s 2011 50 Women of Excellence.
The award honors some of Pittsburgh’s most successful and influential African American women from a variety of career fields and community service callings. Griffin, a Pittsburgh native, was recognized for her role in the corporate community as well as her contributions to the region. At Bayer,which has its U.S. headquarters in Pittsburgh, Linda is the Vice President of the ACCESS Network Group which supports STEM initiatives (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) for underprivileged youth. In her community, she serves as a trustee for the Fund to Advance Minority Education (FAME) and for the Ellis School. She also serves as women’s ministry leader at Northway Christian Community Church.
Griffin received the award at the New Pittsburgh Courier 2011 50 Women of Excellence Awards Luncheon on August 11, 2011, at the Westin Convention Center Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh.
